TAIPEI (Taiwan News) -- Taipei City Government will host the “2019 Eid al-Fitr Celebration in Taipei and Muslim Festival” at Da’an Park on June 9, Taipei’s Department of Information and Tourism (TPEDOIT) said on May 14.

Starting May 6, Muslims across the globe welcomed the most sacred month of the year, Ramadan, when over 1.8 billion Muslims worldwide are obliged to fast and avoid selected activities for a month, until Eid al-Fitr.

Last year, the Eid al-Fitr Celebration attracted more than 40,000 visitors, TPEDOIT said. At this year’s event, “There will be Muslim gourmet food booths, Mu’min products and unique cultural experiences,” the department said.

In addition, the Muslim Outdoor Lecture will debut at this year’s event, focusing on the theme of a Muslim lifestyle and culture, TPEDOIT said. It added that “lecturers will be invited to share their perspectives and experiences with the audience.”
