In order to simplify the application process for employers to hire migrant workers, the Ministry of Labor will launch a " Migrant Workers One-Step Service" on January 1, 2023. Migrant workers can obtain relevant permits and insurance within 3 days of arriving the country. The places for self-isolation of quarantine for domestic migrant workers will also be relaxed on New Year's Day, and they will be able to work as usual if testified as negative daily.

According to Wang, An-Bang, Political Deputy Minister of MOL that it used to take 1 to 1.5 months to complete the 5 statutory application items including employment permit, residence permit, entry notification, occupational accident insurance and national health insurance for migrant workers who came to Taiwan. In order to simplify the process, MOL have started the preparation for Migrant Workers One-Step Service Center that runs all year around.

If the employer applies online 5 days before the migrant worker arrives, the center will send personnel to pick up the migrant worker at the airport and check the immigrant worker directly into the service center for a 3-day workshop. The course will arrange  8-hour study on the four themes, includes life adaptation, health education and insurance, occupational safety and health, employment laws and rights protection, family work, etc. The lecturer will teach through cases and stories.

In addition, the service center is equipped with suites, leisure rooms, and provides with meal. Also especially has a prayer room for Muslims, and is equipped with multilingual notices and bilingual staff, so that migrant workers can be properly cared for.
