According to PH prohibits entry of pork from Sweden | Inquirer Business, Sweden reported an epidemic of African swine fever (ASF), thus the Department of Agriculture (DA) temporarily prohibited the entrance of pork from that nation.

When all occurrences of bird flu or avian influenza were eradicated in Chile and Turkey, two more meat exporters, the DA withdrew the interim prohibition on the importation of chicken from those nations.

Pork items from domestic and wild pigs, including flesh, skin, and semen, are temporarily prohibited from entering the country.

The DA stated in a memo order that sanitary and phytosanitary (SPS) regulations are necessary for regulatory oversight to protect the health of people and animals.

According to the statement, Sweden is a recognized exporter of swine-related goods to the Philippines, but any ASF-vulnerable goods coming from Sweden that might enter the nation via hand-carried goods from international ships or any other possible routes must be stopped.

The Department of Agriculture, according to PH prohibits entry of pork from Sweden | Inquirer Business, immediately halted processing, reviewing applications, and issuing sanitary and phytosanitary import clearance.

The entrance of these items must also be stopped and seized by all veterinary quarantine officers and inspectors at all significant ports of entry.

According to PH prohibits entry of pork from Sweden | Inquirer Business, only cargoes from Sweden that have already been loaded, accepted at the port, or are in route will be accepted by the DA, as long as they were produced or killed on or before August 6 and before the official notification of the order to Swedish authorities.
