Recently, a powerful earthquake in the High Atlas Mountains of Morocco, which is in North Africa, occurred, leading to the collapse of buildings and an increase in fatalities. Taiwan's search and rescue team, consisting of a total of 120 persons and 4 search and rescue dogs, has been prepared, according to the National Fire Agency, MOI. They will take a special jet to the nearby rescue right away after receiving orders, while they wait for members and equipment.

The National Fire Agency's special search and rescue team determined that Morocco was extremely likely to require international humanitarian rescue aid after learning about the devastating earthquake tragedy there. They started the process of preparing the search and rescue special jet as soon as they promptly alerted the counties and cities responsible for conducting international humanitarian rescue operations.

A total of 120 medical professionals—including physicians, nurses, veterinarians, and civil technicians—along with 4 search and rescue dogs, roughly 12 tons of equipment, and other supplies will also be part of Taiwan's search and rescue effort. It will travel to Morocco for rescue and search and rescue as long as it receives instructions from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
