A Police Station in Miaoli County recently held the "Traffic Safety talks for foreigners", which attracted more than 40 new immigrants and foreigners to participate in. The event focused on traffic safety. The police have left a deep impression on the participants by showing a live action drama together with follow-up explanations.

The action drama presented the collision between the new immigrants and the nationals, explaining the procedures handled by the police after a car accident and the rights and interests of both parties in a vivid and light-hearted way.

The Deputy Commissioner of the Police Station Qiu Li Yi (邱麗宜), said that traffic accidents are the personal safety issues most closely related to everyone. It is an unfamiliar issue to most of us including Taiwan nationals.

Foreigners or new residents are more likely to deepen their sense of fear because of language barriers or unfamiliar places they are living in. It is hoped that the live action dramas that are close to life experiences will deepen their impressions and strengthen their awareness of traffic safety.

The traffic laws of each country are different. Therefore, one must pay attention to the differences between the traffic rules of Taiwan and the home country to ensure the safety of yourself and others, and also avoid punishment.

For foreigners who were unable to participate in the forum, the police station also interviewed them in advance for their views and suggestions on the safety of living in Taiwan. The opinions are used as a reference for future planning.

An alien from the Philippines felt that "Safety and transportation issues are not common in Miaoli." An English teacher from the United Kingdom feels safe living in Miaoli and said, "I never feel worried when I go out alone at night."
