[Taiwan Immigrants’ Global News Network] The Hsinchu County New Immigrant Service Center runs a special course on podcast program production in an effort to get new immigrants of the county involved more in daily life in Taiwan and provide them the opportunity to take different courses. This course is scheduled to begin in May. The Service Center encourage newcomers to sign up as volunteers together to assist new immigrants who are in need.

The Social Affairs Department of Hsinchu County Government stated that in order to take care of the new immigrants’ families, the Hsinchu County Government established the Foreign Spouse Family Service Center in 2008, and changed its name to the “Hsinchu County New Immigrant Service Center” in 2018. Since 2011, it has entrusted the Hsinchu City Young Women’s Christian Association set up a professional and dedicated single window for new immigrants and their families.

The Hsinchu County New Immigrant Service Center promotes multiculturalism, offers various welfare information services for new immigrants' families, and offers consultation services to help new immigrants in adaptation. It aims to support new immigrants in creating healthy, pleasing families. As a result, the center hosts a variety of events that let them interact with each other while also having fun and learning new things, such as children's education, motorcycle license testing, family outings, and handicraft workshops. To engage new immigrants in Hsinchu County, the Hsinchu County New Immigrant Service Center started a course in podcast production. The understanding of podcast concept and recording environment, hardware concept and operation, software introduction and operation, planning and hosting skills for programs, marketing analysis, simulation implementation, planning concept and production process, interview and dialogue skills, achievement presentations, program achievement sharing sessions, radio visits, etc. are just a few of the topics covered in the course.

The date for the podcast production course starts from May 6th and courses are arranged on May 13th, 16th, 20th, June 10th, and July 1st, of which, the course arranges visiting to Radio Taiwan International on May 16th, and the rest of classes will be held at the Hsinchu County New Immigrant Service Center (3F., No. 71, Xianzheng 11th St., Zhubei City, Hsinchu County) from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm.

The Hsinchu County New Immigrant Service Center advises people that there are only a limited number of courses available and that the admissions list is mainly notified by the organizer through phone or E-mail. 03-6570832 is the registration number. Also, the center offers volunteer training programs and encourages new immigrants to join as volunteers to assist other new immigrants who require care.
