National University of Kaohsiung Department of East Asian Languages and Literature has always been a popular program for the student. The Immigration Agency is aware of the fact so they signed up an internship program with the Kaohsiung International Airport for providing internship opportunities for the student. Graduated student, Xu Wen-Xin, who is an immigration officer now, shared her working experience with her junior students as a career advice.
The internship program will be started from January 2020. Student who is majoring in Korean and Vietnamese can choose to intern at the Kaohsiung International Airport, guiding the tourist with the custom, including e-Gate, f-Gate (for the foreigner to leave the country) and online landing card.
Xu Wen Xin passed the immigration agency exam with an excellent result in 2014. After the training, she was distributed to work in Taoyuan International Airport. She did really well with her job, so sooner or later, she was sent to Vietnam for further training. Now, she is working in the Kaohsiung International Airport. She stated that every position has its difficulties. She did experience being so tired and just fell asleep right away when she was off duty. However, she still encourages the junior student to seize the opportunity to intern at the airport. It will be an advantage for anyone who wants to become an immigration officer in the future.
