Philippine fire cadres come to Taiwan for training and praise Taiwan's consummate fire training facilities

The Fire Agency’s training center located in Zhushan Township, Nantou County recently held the closing ceremony of the training camp for senior firefighters from Taiwan, Japan and the Philippines. 34 senior firefighters from the Philippines were led by Kwan Tiu, deputy director of the Philippine Fire Services Administration, to conduct a training camp in Taiwan for 8 days.

Director of the Fire Agency, Huan-Zhang Xiao, said that the training courses for Filipino firefighters in Taiwan include fire rescue, rope rescue, car accident and heavy rescue, and rapid rescue teams, etc…  The Fire Agency has also specially invited fire service instructor from Tokyo to Taiwan to give instructions, in order to deepen  cooperation between the units of three counties.

In the purpose to thank the fire agency for its assistance in conducting the training, deputy director of the Philippine Fire Services, Kwan Tiu, deputy director of the Philippine Fire Agency, said that the 34 trainees who came to Taiwan for training this time were from firefighting units from various regions in the Philippines. After the training, they will bring back the firefighting and disaster management skills they learned in Taiwan to their own country , to enhance the firefighting and disaster management capabilities of the Philippines.

This Taiwan-Japan-Philippines cooperation training is jointly planned and managed by the Office of Trade Negotiation, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Bureau of Foreign Trade, Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in the Philippines, and Fire Agency. During the training, there are five days of real life training, investigate disaster prevention technology, equipment, and material; Speaking of  Fire training field, Philippines has always keep a close relationship with our country. Besides exchanging the professional training courses with each sides, on last year’s May, two sides signed the "Taiwan-Philippines Disaster Prevention Cooperation Memorandum of Understanding”. Which enhanced the cooperation between counties and the Fire Agency will continue to assist the Philippines in cultivating more seed in training instructors in the field of firefighting and disaster management.
