Former Turkish engineer who worked in a tobacco firm, Giray Fetyllah met Camille from Tainan. Sooner or later, they got married and moved to Tainan together. Ayşe愛分享土耳其餐酒館 is a Turkish customize menu bistro opened by the couple, the interior design are all done by Camilia and the customize cuisine is so popular among the locals in Tainan. Immigration Agency Tainan department service team paid a visit to their bistro to cheer for what they have done.
“I worked here at first, and then, I met my wife. Now, I am the chief of my bistro. I feel like Taiwan is a friendly country that you can follow your dream and have this unlimited possibility.” Giray said. He first came to Taiwan for business trip and met Camilia because of dining at the same table in a pizzeria. They fall in love at first sight, and also, he is in love with the friendliness of Taiwanese people. Since Giray’s mom and six other sisters are really good at cooking, he started to learn from them from his very young age and got this natural talent. After marriage, he decided to put on an apron and pass down his mom’s cooking skill by sharing the best Turkish cuisine to everyone.
“Every time I make the Turkish bread, it seems like I put in all my memory of my mom again and again” Giray said. Moreover, he cares about the spices and the freshness of the food, so he insisted on buying the ingredient every day. And also, the utensils for his dishes are something that is really important. Especially Turkish traditional coffee made with hot sand which its coffee beans and equipment are brought back from Turkey. Giray is also willing to share the skills of making Turkish cuisine to let more people know that Turkish food is actually a lot more than just the Turkish ice cream.
The manager of the immigration service center, Chen Nan Han, said,” thanks to those diversity culture that was brought to Taiwan by the new resident.” The official is now making effort to create a more harmony place with deep and different cultures so as to let more people like Giray to love what Taiwan can offer. Besides, 2019 New Resident Festival held by Immigration Agency and Tainan City Hall will be held on Dec 8th 2 pm at Chimei Museum. There will be several exhibitions about different cultures, food and performance by the new resident, and also big prize at lucky draw. Giray and Camilia are invited to celebrate the festival with all the other new residents.
