The Ministry of Education released the admissions list of the examination of government sponsorship for overseas study of 2019 on the 31st. This time, 130 people out of 593 people are selected with the average acceptance rate, 21.9 %, and it has got more 11 people than last year. Among them, 10 people are selected to individually go to 5 New Southbound countries. The Ministry of Education expects to send their transcripts on January 2.
A total of 130 people are admitted to the examination of government sponsorship for overseas study in 2019, including 99 people in the general government sponsorship for overseas study, 3 people in the outstanding government sponsorship for overseas study, 13 people in the government sponsorship for overseas study for the indigenous, 5 people in the government sponsorship for overseas study for the disabled, and 10 people in the government sponsorship for overseas study of New Southbound countries.
Division Chief of the Department of International and Cross-strait Education of the Ministry of Education, Wang Hongming, points out that 10 students are admitted to individually go to New Southbound countries, such as Vietnam, Thailand, India, the Philippines, and Indonesia. Compared to the ten students last year, more additional students will go to the Philippines for studying this year, and they are accepted by 7 subjects including language, religion and philosophy, Southeast Asian studies, film, intangible cultural heritage, Southeast Asian and South Asian legal systems, and senior society.
In terms of the government sponsorship for overseas study for the indigenous, there are still three additional admissions this time. Apart from the education for indigenous people and indigenous cultures, there are more 12 subjects included, such as South Asian international relations, films, art therapy, long-term care, voluntary sector, criminality, and sustainable city program.
The Ministry of Education states that students can directly check the results on the website of the government sponsorship for overseas study online application (www.bicerexam.moe.gov.tw). If there is any doubt about the results, students can apply for a review before January 13.
