During the autumn and winter season, combining forest trips with hot spring experiences has become the top choice for relaxation. The Taichung Branch of the Forestry Bureau has teamed up with Baxian Mountain National Forest Recreation Area and Guguan Hot Spring hotel operators to launch a strategic alliance activity. Visitors who present their Baxian Mountain admission receipt at Guguan hot spring hotels can receive vouchers for hot spring discounts ranging from 100 to 200 TWD. Additionally, visitors presenting hot spring hotel receipts can enjoy half-price admission (75 TWD) on weekdays or discounted tickets (100 TWD) on weekends to Baxian Mountain, offering a heartwarming winter healing experience.
Baxian Mountain National Forest Recreation Area has been recommended as a forest healing base by the Forestry Bureau, with the scenic waterfall viewing platform recently renovated and reopened. This platform offers a wide view of the Shiwen Stream and the sounds of the waterfall, making it a must-visit photo spot. The area around the platform is suitable for stretching and meditation, allowing visitors to absorb negative ions from the waterfall and fully relax both mind and body, providing a rare forest therapy environment. The newly reopened waterfall viewing platform in Basianshan National Forest Recreation Area (Photo courtesy of Forestry and Nature Conservation Agency website).
The Taichung Branch also pointed out that the Guguan Hot Spring Recreation Area, which is near Baxian Mountain, has partnered with multiple nearby hot spring hotels. Visitors presenting park admission receipts at any of ten hot spring hotels, such as Hui Lai Guguan Hot Spring Resort and Longgu Tourist Hotel, can enjoy hot spring vouchers, with some hotels offering up to 20% discounts. Other hotels offer discounts of 100 TWD for public baths or 200 TWD for private baths. Visitors presenting hot spring hotel receipts at Baxian Mountain also receive discounted entry.
