Taipei Arts Festival, which promotes Taipei's multiculturalism and the idea of fostering intercommunal harmony via artistic expression, is ready to enter its 25th year. The subject for this year is “Dancing Ecosystems,” which uses ecological methods and ideas to address how people and natural ecosystems interact in the post-epidemic period. There will be at least 20 musical, theatrical, and dance acts over the event's length from August through October.

According to the director (蔡詩萍) of Department of Cultural Affairs, Taipei City Government, over the years, the Taipei Arts Festival has featured several foreign performances in addition to encouraging the production of new works by numerous artistic and cultural organizations. An annual summer art event is held there.

A participatory art festival of living culture, with "Dancing Ecosystems" as its topic for 2023, examines the interaction between human civilization and natural ecosystem from the viewpoint of all things. "Concert for Plants" will open the top floor garden of Taipei Performing Arts Center for the first time and include 20 pieces, encouraging public participation. Many foreign performers' Asian debuts will occur at the event. Included in this is Sun & Sea, winner of the prestigious Golden Lion at the 2019 Venice Biennale. Visitors may see a continuous opera performance while the artwork turns the arts center's display hall into a beach.

The Taipei Arts Festival's curator expressed his hope that those attending to appreciate the works will be able to step back from the human perspective and reexamine the ecosystem from the perspective of biodiversity, working together to create an ecological art action that cuts across species, fields, and localities.
