Jimmy Beunardeau, who has a strong love for Taiwan, once participated in the "Taiwan French Working Holiday Project." Back then he just graduated from university so this project was an opportunity for him to have long-term travel and take wildlife photos.

There were 15 countries that have such kind of exchange program with France and Taiwan is one of them. Beunardeau watched a video introducing Huang Mei Xiu (黃美秀), an associate professor at the Institute of Wildlife Conservation of National Pingtung University of Science and Technology. She is known as "Black Bear Mom".

Beunardeau was deeply touched by the video and therefore decided to choose Taiwan. He then becomes one of the first group of French people to come to Taiwan for working holidays.

After setting foot on the land of Taiwan, Beunardeau traveled around Taiwan and even offshore islands to experience the "Beautiful Treasure Island". He even participated in the "Taiwan Black Bear Conservation Project."

He also volunteered at the Wildlife Conservation Center in Pingtung for 2 years, following the Taiwan black bear ecological conservation team to live in the mountains and forests for a year. At the same time, he recorded the life of Taiwan black bears with his photography expertise and published relevant works on international media platforms, promoting the Taiwan government’s efforts to conserve wildlife. “I don't want young people to recognize wild animals through photos only.” Beunardeau once said, “Formosan clouded leopard has disappeared, so it is necessary to protect the ecological environment of Taiwan black bears.”

This beautiful land allows everyone to do what they want to do with freedom, live a life they like without worrying about others' judgments. He lets more people see and understand Taiwan’s beauty of nature and multiculturalism through his photos published in France.
