Many counties in Taiwan have begun a plan to reduce water supply, because there the lack of typhoons last year and the limited rainfall this year.
The Taiwan Centers for Disease Control (CDC) reminds people that although the water supply is limited, people should pay attention to water storage methods, and not ignore hand hygiene. This is because many diseases are caused by touching their mouth and nose with a unclean hand.
Therefore, CDC teaches people how to clean their hands during the limited water supply period to reduce the risk of infection.

If there is no clean water, people can use alcohol-based hand sanitizer to clean their hands. And remember to rub both hands till the sanitizer dries off. However, because alcohol has a limited disinfection effect on norovirus and enterovirus, if you fail to wash your hands properly, you should avoid touching your mouth, nose, eyes, or taking care of infants and young children with your hands.
