Qishan Motor Vehicle Station provides consultation service for new immigrants to join driver's license test

Taiwan is a diverse society, and among all groups of people, new immigrants are comparatively disadvantaged. To solve the inconvenience in their life and convey correct traffic rules, Qishan Motor Vehicle Station of Kaohsiung City Motor Vehicles Office has launched consultation services for new immigrants to join in driver's license test.

It's relatively difficult for new immigrants to obtain driver's licenses because of language barriers, the station head of Qishan Motor Vehicle Station, Yang Caihui (楊財惠), stated. Individuals who drive without a license will be fined from 6,000 to 12,000 NTD. To assist new immigrants in obtaining driver's licenses, the station particularly hosted a workshop that taught new immigrants how to drive safely and answer the questions on the computer. The app "Driver's License Test" (機車考照題庫APP) also helps people who don't understand Chinese to select their first languages to practice answering questions of the test. If people living in Kaohsiung, please call at 07-6613711 ext. 201 for registration or detailed information.

Ms. Chen, a new immigrant from Vietnam, shared her experiences that she didn't pass the test twice because she didn't understand any word in the writing test. She actually wanted to give up joining the test again. However, thanks to the consultation service provided by Qishan Motor Vehicle Station, she finally passed the driver's license test.
