Nantou County lacks an incinerator, which makes waste accumulation a major issue. A newlywed couple decided to have their wedding photo shot in front of a rubbish mountain, tolerating the odor, and successfully sparked discussion in order to draw attention to the expansion of waste in Taiwan.

Over 200,000 tons of waste have accumulated in Nantou County as of late. Among them, Puli lacks a temporary storage facility; thus, bulky furniture, resource recycling, and general waste may only be handled close to the cleaning crew. The mountain of trash has now been stacked up to four floors high. Recently, a couple decided to have their wedding photographs taken in front of a mound of trash, which triggers internet curiosity and generated discussions.

The bride in the picture claimed that she is not from Puli and that she came from Taipei to the south to shoot wedding photos. The bride clarified that Puli is not the only place where there is a rubbish mountain, which is found in many counties and cities, therefore she believes that by taking these unique photos, the public would be made aware of Taiwan's massive garbage problem and encouraged to take action by decreasing garbage.
