According to Bongbong Marcos skips COP 28 Dubai trip | Inquirer News, in order to attend the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP28) in Dubai on November 30, President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. will no longer be traveling by plane.

The President announced on social media that he had made the decision to remain in the midst of significant developments about the hostage crisis involving 17 Filipino seamen in the Red Sea.

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has decided not to attend COP28 in Dubai tomorrow due to significant developments in the hostage crisis involving 17 Filipino sailors in the Red Sea. According to a post by Marcos on X, he will be calling a meeting to enable the sending of a high-level delegation to Tehran, Iran, in order to provide Filipino seafarers with the support they require.

The Loss and Damage Fund is the primary priority for the Philippines at COP 28, according to Yulo-Loyzaga.
