Tainan City Mayor (黃偉哲) led a delegation to Sendai, Japan, where he met with Ryu Yamamoto, Mayor of Maebashi, Gunma County, to negotiate the placement of Tainan farm products on the shelves of the biggest roadside rest stop in Japan, "Maebashi Akagi," (まえばし赤城) and the two sides came to a mutually beneficial agreement. The mayor of Tainan City also expressed his gratitude to the Japanese side for recognizing the quality of Tainan's agricultural output.

Mayor of Maebashi has begun to arrange a trip to Tainan in addition to firmly supporting Taiwan. The mayor wants to be able to employ Tainan's agricultural products in the "Maebashi Akagi" rest stop because the Tokyo Food Show left an impression of the flavor of Tainan farm products. It becomes a permanent sale as a unique area so that visitors from all over Japan may experience Tainan farm products.

A brand-new building, the "Maebashi Akagi" rest area, will be inaugurated in March 2023. Additionally, to obtaining unique regional goods like Gunma and Saitama, there are almost 500 parking spots and bathing facilities. The sales of Tainan farm goods in this country will undoubtedly increase significantly. It is envisaged that the Japanese people would have higher expectations for Taiwan's agricultural goods given their popularity and sales volume.
