Director of Hualien Social Affairs Department Chen Jia Fu (陳加富) said that many families in Hualien have to rely on migrant friends to take care of their relatives. Moreover, you can see their figures working diligently in traditional industries. Migrant workers play important roles in society and industries, making a positive impact on Taiwan society.

This event enables migrant workers to have fun with their friends from the same hometown during the holidays. At the same time, employers can get to know migrant workers better. The event has transformed Hualien County into a harmonious family of ethnic diversity.

Besides the fun activities, the event also includes laws and regulations promotion which increased public awareness of laws to reduce cases of illegal employment, illegal working, and unaccounted for workers.

With the dance performances of their hometown, and the taste of their countries, migrant workers are able to de-stress and alleviate feelings of isolation and loneliness. The public can also experience exotic vibes and have a deeper understanding of cultural diversity. It is hoped that through this platform, the harmonious relationship between employers and employees can be promoted as well.
