More than 950,000 people have visited Kaohsiung Shoushan Zoo since it reopened in December of last year, breaking records during the Double Ten holiday and welcoming its one millionth visitor.
As the one millionth fortunate guest of Shoushan Zoo, Ms. Wang from Tainan won a variety of goodies, including a lucky bag special to the zoo, a year's worth of free admission, hot air balloon tickets in Kaohsiung, and round-trip tickets from Taiwan to Japan.

According to the Kaohsiung Tourism Bureau, July and August are when most people take their summer vacations. The number of guests surpassed 88,000 in July. Even with the effects of the wet season, there were still over 80,000 tourists in August. In comparison to the zoo, it doubled in the same time frame prior to the renovation (2020).
Since Kumamoto Prefecture in Japan and Kaohsiung City are sister cities, as noted by the city's tourism bureau, special arrangements have been made this time for the park's millionth visitor to visit Kumamoto in person.
