Executive Yuan approved the "Labor Occupational Accident Insurance and Protection Act" on May 1, 2021

According to the [Laws & Regulations Database of The Republic of China], the Executive Yuan approved the "Labor Occupational Accident Insurance and Protection Act" on Labor Day (May 1) this year 2021. According to the Act's Chapter 1: General Provisions, it is enacted to protect the lives of workers (including foreign and migrant workers) suffering from occupational accidents and their families, strengthen the prevention of occupational accidents, and rehabilitation of workers following occupational accidents and promote social security.

There are 3 ways for workers to increase their insurance coverage: through convenience stores, an APP developed for the MOL, and assistance provided by professional union personnel.

 According to the [Laws & Regulations Database of The Republic of China], foreign and migrant workers will be included in the insurance coverage under this act. If the basic salary of NTD24,000 is used to calculate the insurance expenses, the rate for the unclassified service industry is 0.17%.
