World Health Organization (WHO) Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesu warned on July 2 on Twitter about the fatalness brought by COVID-19 with the rapid transmission of its Delta variant.
WHO has reported that this variant, initially detected in India, had a transmissibility of up to 60 times than that of the original virus, and is currently found in 98 countries.

Adhanom Ghebreyesu warned that Delta was a dangerous variant that kept mutating, so constant evaluation and adjusting the given response was needed to combat it.
