Changhua Lifeline Association together with Taiwan New Immigrants Development and Exchange Association send love and warmth to frontline epidemic personnel

During the outbreak of the local epidemic in Taiwan, the fire, police, and medical staff continued with their job responsibilities, defying hardships to perform various tasks of disaster relief, assisting the people and other service groups. Because of their perseverance, the Changhua County Lifeline Association (彰化生命線協會) started a series of activities in July, "Sending Love, Warmth and Foreign Foods to Different Places" (募集愛心異國料理送暖到各地), with more than 6 events held so far. On August 28, the chairman of Changhua Lifeline Association Wang Kuan-Chun (王冠君) together with the chairman of the New Immigrants Development and Exchange Association Liang Chin-Ni (梁金妮) went to the Tien Chung Fire Department (田中分隊消防局) and the Tien Chung Police Station (田中派出所) to hold the last event of the series, for a perfect ending to the activity.

Liang Chin-Ni, chairman of the New Immigrants Development and Exchange Association, said that this series of activities to “send love and warmth” brought together the hearts and minds of many new immigrant sisters. Not only did they prepare authentic Indonesian dishes and deliver them to the Changhua Hospital on July 26, but they also gave comfort to foreign caregivers who cannot go out during the epidemic. They also provided drinks to thank the medical staff of Changhua City’s South West North Health Center (彰化市南西北衛生所) for their assistance in administering vaccines on July 31.

The new immigrant sisters are working and taking care of their families at the same time. After work, they assisted in contacting Vietnamese and Indonesian restaurants. They personally selected their hometown dishes and delivered the authentic multinational foods to the hard-working epidemic prevention personnel. At the end of the event, the new immigrants of Changhua County were able to show their appreciation and give back through this series of activities. Also, to show their happiness living in a peaceful place like Taiwan.

Wang Kuan-Chun, chairman of the Changhua Lifeline Association, said that many new immigrants’ groups from all over Changhua enthusiastically participated in this warm activity since July. During this period, it has been clearly demonstrated that the new immigrants consider Taiwan as their home and that they love this beautiful land with their heart. It also showed their gratitude by giving back to the epidemic prevention personnel. Thank you very much for the enthusiastic participation of the new immigrants. Now that the epidemic in Taiwan is gradually slowing down and will soon come to an end, we hope that Taiwan’s future will be better.
