To promote the ethics of filial piety and publicly honor the role models, the Ministry of the Interior (MOI) holds the National Filial Piety Awards. Minister Xu Guo Yong (徐國勇) will be presiding over and The 2021 National Filial Piety Award Ceremony in Hsinchu County on October 26 in . 30 awardees will be publicly praised;for low-income households or middle-low-income households, each person will be given a trophy and a bonus of NT$50,000. Moreover, those who have passed the reviews, will also be given an extra filial piety award of NT$30,000.

This year’s commendation ceremony is co-organized with the Hsinchu County Government, and a visit event is arranged the next day. It is hoped that this event will convey the warm filial behavior of role models, encourage the public to learn from them and do good deeds to their parents and others, building environments that encourage positive behaviors.
The referees of the selected filial piety award winners will also be presented with a certificate of appreciation by the MOI to encourage everyone to play a part in building a foundation for positive behavior

According to the MOI, among the 2021 filial piety awardees, the oldest is 81 years old-Mr. Chen San Lang (陳三郎), the youngest is 15 years old-Student Zeng Yu Mei (曾鈺媗); 20 females, 10 males, and 8 students who are still receiving schooling. It can be seen that filial piety has no difference in age, gender, or status.
