Italy’s 18th Asian Film Festival Best Film Award: Taiwanese film "Synapses"

Taiwanese family drama "Synapses (那個我最親愛的陌生人)" directed by filmmaker Chang Tso-chi (張作驥), won the Best Film Award at the 18th edition Asian Film Festival organized by Cineforum Robert Bresson. Taiwan's representative to Italy Lee Sing-ying (李新穎) received the award on behalf of Chang in Rome.

The event took place at the Cinema Farnese in Rome, Italy, from June 17 through 23. An on-site film festival open to the public. It screened 30 films from 11 Asian countries.

Jury members, Italian director Valentina de Amicis and film critic Aldo Spiniello, selected the award-winning films, including the best film "Synapses" (Taiwan), and the best male actor award for Tran Anh Khoa's performance in "Ròm Human Nature Breaking Lesson" (Vietnam).

In 2021, the list of selected films from 11 Asian countries (including Japan, South Korea, China, the Philippines, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam and Singapore).
