In India, Diwali is one of the biggest holidays of the year. Other names for it include the Hindu Festival of Lights and the Festival of Lights. During a full moon, it takes place every year in late October or early November. Together, Indian expatriates celebrate it all over the world.

Foreign Minister Joseph Wu stated in his address that an increasing number of Indian restaurants are emerging in Taiwan due to the popularity of Indian food and movies there. Furthermore, Taiwan and India's collaboration has continued to grow in the areas of commerce, technology, education, and supply chain resilience.

According to ITA Director-General Manharsinh Laxmanbhai Yadav, there are presently over 7,000 Indian expats living in Taiwan, and many of them have strong technical backgrounds, particularly in the country's main research parks. These Indian groups celebrate significant holidays in Taiwan and see Taiwan as their second home. ITA arranges a special Diwali celebration with the goal of enabling its Taiwanese friends to learn about India's rich cultural diversity and fostering a deep emotional bond with Taiwan.
