According to the Ministry of Education, this year's "Taiwan New Immigrants Dance Contest" has revised the minimum requirements. It has been conducted annually since 2016. The criterion for each registration team's new immigrant percentage has been reduced from the previous 2/3 to 1/3. It is anticipated that more dancers from all backgrounds would be able to join. Starting this year, teams can compete in the finals as long as half of the team members are registered in Penghu, Kinmen, Matsu, Green Island, Orchid Island, and other outer island locations. This is done to attract new immigrants of outlying islands to actively participate.
Additionally, Group A and Group B are being used for the first time in this year's contest. To allow more seasoned competitors to compete on the same stage, Group A will comprise teams who have won finals prizes in the previous three years. To encourage all ethnic groups to actively engage and communicate with one another, Group B is suited for novices or first-time competitors.
