In recent years, fraud has increased dramatically. Along with phone and Internet fraud, mail and package fraud has grown to be a significant global issue. A package carrying deadly gas was discovered in a shipment that had been sent from mainland China to South Korea via Taiwan in July of this year. South Korea thus temporarily ceased to accept supplies from Taiwan.

In addition, Korea Post noted that there are several "brushing scams" in China, and expressed the hope that Chunghwa Post will increase its level of oversight. Chunghwa Post thus made the decision to continue rejecting transshipments from China to South Korea for the time being.
Chunghwa Post made clear that it is actively talking about tightening the controls on shipments of cargo to posts. In order to tighten customer control, delivery companies will have to only accept shipments from commodities suppliers and logistics companies that have been approved by international e-commerce platforms.
