The "Newcomer and Children's Dream-Building Plan," hosted by the Immigration Agency, is now in its 10th year. Since its inception, the plan has been dedicated to helping new immigrants and their children achieve their dreams. Participants have demonstrated incredible enthusiasm and perseverance in their journeys to realizing their dreams, and their achievements and joys have inspired countless others. We will introduce the outstanding award winners of this year's "Environmental Protection and Sustainable Development Group," showcasing how these new immigrants are giving back to their new homeland. Not only are they serving the community, but they are also contributing to environmental protection and sustainable development of this land.

'Planting Beauty-Leg Plants Along the Creek, Balancing Wetland Ecology for a Win-Win' - Ye Xiaoli & Lan Yunmei
Ye Xiaoli leases farmland along the Bashang Creek to cultivate bamboo shoots, hoping to expose her children to healthy farming practices through natural farming methods. She utilizes fish-vegetable symbiosis and earthworm processing of agricultural waste to promote wetland biodiversity, reducing the cost of fertilizers and pest control. She also introduces fish co-existence, avoiding the use of pesticides. She also uses the eggs of water apple snails to make organic liquid fertilizer, achieving resource recycling.

With the assistance of the Dream-Building Plan and cooperation with Chiayi City Community College, Ye Xiaoli hosts beauty-leg food and agriculture education sharing activities, allowing participants to experience the process from planting to the table. This deepens their appreciation for farmland and makes more people understand the hard work and value of farming.Yeh Hsiao-Li collaborated with Chiayi City Community College to organize an educational event on food and agriculture featuring water spinach. 'Understanding the Plant Ecology and Conservation of New Home (Tamsui)' - Xie Sifan & Xie Siyu & Xu Lingxiang
Xie Sifan and Xie Siyu, brothers deeply passionate about nature, frequently explore the campus and surrounding areas after school. With the support of their natural science teacher, Xu Lingxiang, they joined the Dream-Building Plan. They observed the characteristics and functions of common Tamsui plants, compiling their research findings into a plant database accessible to schoolmates. Collaborating with experts at Tamsui Community College, they created easily understandable plant learning brochures for students and also established a plant seed bank, preserving various plant seeds to lay the groundwork for ecological conservation. Through these efforts, they not only enhanced their understanding of local plants but also became role models for maintaining the ecological environment, demonstrating their concern for their new homeland.
