National Taiwan University Hospital’s mix-and-match vaccines research report Released, "AZ+Moderna" has higher efficacy

COVID-19 poses a huge threat to human health, social costs, the medical system, and economic activities. The National Taiwan University research team recruited healthy volunteers (medical personnel) from National Taiwan University Hospital and Taoyuan Hospital of the Ministry of Health and Welfare to participate in clinical studies on the effectiveness of mixed vaccination. The subjects were between 20 and 65 years old. It is to compare mixed vaccination with vaccination of one type of vaccine.

The study recruited a total of 400 participants from June to August 2021 (but one of them was excluded because of the use of immunosuppressive drugs). The National Taiwan University Hospital held a press conference to announce the results of mix-and-match COVID vaccines.

The report concluded that the mixed vaccination of AZ & Moderna provides a higher immune antibody response than the two doses of AZ vaccines, and the effect of mixed vaccination is equivalent to the two doses of Moderna vaccines; AZ & Moderna vaccination has a higher proportion of side effects than two doses of AZ vaccines, but most of them are mild to moderate.
