2022 Taiwan Lantern Festival in Kaohsiung is held in the Weiwuying National Kaohsiung Center for the Arts with the theme of “GeeKaohsiung, Universe”. GeeKaohsiung means Geek and Kaohsiung, and the participants will be able to enter the world of Geek – who are technology enthusiasts and to have the imagination of the future technology world.

The design of lighting installations in this area is based on the idea of "entertainment technology", such as VR, movies, music, etc., and integrates the elements of local culture and daily life, bringing many developing & representative entertainment technologies into the lighting area.
By combining lighting, music, interactive technology, and traditional lighting, the Lantern Festival thus becomes a unique and interesting one.

In addition, festival-goers will also be able to create their own avatars and enter the world of the metaverse. There is also another installation, and its design idea derives from the 3D Printer. The top part is a LED screen showing a 3D printed tiger that wishes Happy New Year to the audience. Together with naked-eye 3D technology, people would see three-dimensional-style images and videos without any glasses or equipment.
