The first of Nana's numerous reasons for adoring Taiwan was the "caring" of Taiwanese people. According to her, caring for others does not make a distinction between men, women, or children. A friend of Nana's once traveled to Taiwan from Japan and intended to spend three days in Taipei. The station employee at the MRT station reminded them that it would be more cost-effective to purchase a ticket each time they used the MRT just as they were ready to purchase a three-day unlimited travel ticket from the station attendant. This gave Nana the impression that the station attendants' services are entirely supplied for the benefit of the passengers and not for their own financial gain, which made her feel very kind.

Nana also recalled a time when she was traveling and looking at the map on her phone to figure out how to go to her destination when a motorcyclist saw that she appeared to be searching for the route. He stopped his motorcycle and got off to direct her in the proper direction. Even though she didn't ask bystanders for directions, Nana claimed that someone still volunteered to assist her, which impressed her.
