NIA 2nd Tainan City Service Center reminds new immigrants to register for vaccines and to apply for resident permit extensions

Once the epidemic alert was downgraded to a level 2, the National Immigration Agency (NIA) began allowing new immigrants to visit service stations physically to process their resident permit extensions. Those whose resident permits or residence visas are issued by the Bureau of Consular Affairs (BOCA), Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) must visit NIA service stations 30 days within the downgrade to a nationwide level 2 alert (before August 25). For expired or overdue stays, there might be some problems

According to statistics provided by the NIA 2nd Tainan City Service Center among the applicants between July 27 and August 18, 276 cases were accepted.

In line with epidemic prevention measures, migrants are encouraged to apply for vaccinations through the "Online COVID-19 Vaccination Registration and Reservation" system of the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC). Director of the NIA 2nd Tainan City Service Center Hu Peng-hsiang 胡鵬翔 stated that after the reopening to public applications, the service stations installed new equipment to speed up payment processing. Credit and debit cards can also be used instead of cash to avoid the risk of spreading the COVID-19 virus.
