To promote multicultural integration, mutual dialogue and respect between ethnic groups, the National Hsinchu Living Art Center has been organizing "Talking, Painting, Watching-New Resident and Migrant Worker’s Native Language Picture Book Creation Achievements Exhibition" since 2019.

Entering its third year, students started from scratch and completed rich and touching creations after 5-week and 30-hour empowerment training courses. Also, through picture book creation, new residents will deliver the message of missing their hometown, and adding more colors to this island, Taiwan.

Ye Yu Zheng (葉于正), head of the National Hsinchu Living Art Center under the Ministry of Culture stated that there are 3 works that received Merit awards and 9 works that received Honorable awards. Mo Ai Fang (莫愛芳) from Indonesia, who won the Golden Bell Award, was invited as the host of the award ceremony.

And the dance group who always wins competitions-東方炫舞舞蹈團served as the opening ceremony guest, hoping to fully convey the integration and mutual respect between ethnic groups through the respect and understanding between the new residents and the public.

The event this year is different from the past. The exhibition was held online, so that more people can explore the 37 creations produced by students from different countries.

It is expected that the online exhibition will be opened on October 27. In addition to reading the e-books, you can also listen to the author’s own voice recordings online. It is hoped that the picture books can be presented in different forms so that viewers can be exposed to different perspectives of cultural diversity.
