Taoyuan City Government sets up "material supplies and distribution centers" and new immigrants can benefit!

To help economically disadvantaged families for their daily essentials, the Taoyuan City Government Department of Social Welfare (桃園市政府社會局) has set up “material supplies centers and distribution stations" (實物銀行分行、民間物資發放站) to provide the public with supplies for their daily needs. The Department of Social Welfare uses a material distribution and warehouse management system to allow donated materials to be properly used. In addition, food business operators, convenience stores and supermarkets, provide free meal coupons and physical coupons, so that people in need can get help in many ways.

During the epidemic, the Taoyuan city government recognizes the need for emergency assistance for unemployed workers, new immigrants and their families, etc., and hopes to expand emergency relief, provide care for the disadvantaged, implement additional living allowance programs, set up physical material supplies donation centers, provide free meal coupons, physical vouchers, and other caring services. Taoyuan Mayor Cheng Wen-tsan (桃園市長鄭文燦) said that it will cooperate with food providers and stores, in combination with the Taoyuan City Resident Card APP, so that people who need hot meals can check the location of participating food stores by using their mobile phones and use coupons in exchange for meals.
