The international situation regarding African swine fever remains severe. Taiwan and Japan are the only two non-affected countries in Asia!
Sending prohibited items across borders or bringing them into Taiwan can result in fines starting at NT$200,000!
Note for Entering Taiwan
Do not bring pork products privately
Such as raw pork, ham, sausage, mooncakes with meat filling, pork floss, pork rice cakes, cured meat, dried meat, rice dumplings, etc.
Other animal products
Such as improperly processed fur, organs, bones, etc.
In-flight meal waste
Do not bring meals provided on flights into Taiwan.
If mistakenly brought, discard them in disposal boxes before entry or declare and discard them before entry.
Foreigners found that bringing pork products into Taiwan could be fined!
First violation
NT$200,000 fine
Second violation
NT$1,000,000 fine
If you do not have residency status in Taiwan and are fined, you must pay the fine on the spot to enter the country.
If unable to pay on the spot, you will be denied entry and prohibited from entering the country.
Please remind overseas relatives and friends not to send meat products or other animal quarantine items to Taiwan. It could harm the recipient!
