What is Long-Term Care 2.0?

The government integrates various long-term care service resources to make them more comprehensive and improve service quality, ensuring users receive complete care services. This policy has been implemented since 2017.

Who is eligible for long-term care services?

Those assessed by municipal or county long-term care centers to meet level 2 care needs or higher and meet one of the following:

 

  • People with disabilities and functional limitations
  • People over 50 years old with dementia
  • Indigenous people over 55 years old with disabilities
  • Elderly over 65 years old with disabilities

    ※Must hold a valid Taiwanese ID

What services are included in Long-Term Care 2.0?

  • Care and professional services
    • Care services: Provide daily care through home services or daycare centers
    • Professional services: Guidance by healthcare and social work professionals for patients and caregivers
  • Transportation: Transportation for medical visits and rehabilitation
  • Assistive devices and home modification: Apply for installations like handrails or threshold removals if needed
  • Respite care: When primary caregivers need a break, apply to send the patient to a care center or have a caregiver come to the home

You can apply through the following methods:

 

  • Call the long-term care hotline at 1966
  • Contact the local long-term care management center.
  • During hospitalization, contact the discharge planning and care connection team.
  • Apply online
  • A specialist will then visit for assessment and develop a care plan before services begin.
