Northeast Monsoon Getting stronger , Bringing the Oversea Pollution

Environmental Protection Administration stated that due to the northeast monsoon that bring the air pollution from overseas, the early morning smog will affect the air quality in the north, and soon going down to the south, affecting the south from noon. Although the air quality is still unstable depends on the weather. However, central and south Taiwan are located on the leeward side, so we should be aware of the pollution accumulation. Besides, the wind will become stronger in the afternoon around the coastal area in Yunlin, Chiayi and Tainan.

The particulate matter 2.5 is measured at 60-80 microgram per cubic meter in Shanghai at 3pm on 24th. As the northeast monsoon is becoming stronger, it is certain to effect Taiwan with those oversea pollution.

Air quality forecast stated that north Taiwan, Hsinchu, Miaoli, central Taiwan and Penghu are at normal level, while Yunlin, Chiayi, Tainan, Kaoshiung, Pingtung, Kinmen and Matsu are under code orange as a warning. However, Yilan, Hualien and Taitung are under good condition.

It is strongly advised by the official to be alert to the air quality recently, as the air quality is still unstable depends on the weather. Kids, the elderly and allergic people should stay away from outdoor activities and make sure to wear masks whenever you need to go out.
