The Director of Hualien County Service Center, Hu Chao Ren (胡朝仁) will visit the vaccination site with Brigade personnel to assist foreigners in checking the identities of undocumented migrant workers and overstayers. Those who reside in Taiwan without having a ROC (Taiwan) Resident Certificate will be given a UI No.

The program adopts four principles, “won’t be reported”, “won’t be seized”, “won’t be charged for any fee”, “won’t be banned” and it will last until January 31, 2022.

Hu Chao Ren stated that a new immigrant from Vietnam - A fan (nickname) got married in Ji'an Township, Hualien County last year. A fan’s parents traveled to Taiwan to take care of her child. However, due to the global COVID-19 outbreak, her parents chose to overstay in Taiwan and thus became overstayers. Fortunately, A fan could arrange the vaccination appointment for her parents under the “Carefree Covid-19 Vaccination Program”.

The migrants who have not been vaccinated are encouraged to seize the opportunity by visiting the 3 vaccination stations set up by the Hualien County Health Bureau this Saturday. Those who have certificates can bring their certificates to speed up the registration process. On the other hand, those who are undocumented will also be assisted on the spot.
