The Keelung City Government formed the New Immigrant Affairs Committee (新住民事務委員會) to help new immigrants integrate into Taiwanese society, and during this year's Zhongyuan Festival events, it won a float specifically for the new immigrants. Together with international students, the family of the new immigrants forms a parade.

According to the Department of Comprehensive Development, Keelung City Government, a float honoring new immigrants was prepared for this year's Zhongyuan Festival float parade, and close to 80 individuals took part in it. The new immigrants also anticipate that the Keelung City Government would pay close attention to the distribution of interpretation classes as well as emergency support channels for them. The mayor of Keelung City also reacted, saying he would work with the necessary departments and employ resources held by the local authority to help the new immigrants deal with a variety of issues.
The new immigrants’ requirements may be better recognized, according to the mayor of Keelung City, through the input and communication of the New Immigrant Affairs Committee. He is already aggressively assessing potential locations and establishing a multilingual service line in the hopes that specialized employees will assist in resolving issues for new immigrants.
