"one-stop immigration service” is coming soon in 2022! Migrant workers can learn laws in Taiwan better

Migrant workers entering Taiwan may violate laws and regulations because they do not understand them well. The Ministry of Labor has planned a "one-stop immigration service” for migrant workers. There will be 3-day & 2-night lectures which enables migrant workers to understand laws and regulations better. Besides, it also helps employers to complete related administrative procedures. This service is expected to be launched in 2022.

Workforce Development Agency, Ministry of Labor states, according to the current regulations, migrant workers must take a 30-minute lecture after entering Taiwan.

Moreover, employers hiring migrant workers must also go through administrative processes such as application for Alien Residence Certificates and Work Permit, etc.

Therefore, it is planned to set a "one-stop immigration service” for migrant workers in both Kaohsiung and Taoyuan so that the migrant workers will receive lectures after entering Taiwan. It is hoped that they will be able to learn about laws in Taiwan, and also understand labor rights and channels for employee complaints.

In addition, employers are also benefited from the one-stop service to go through all relevant procedures together, including application for Work Permit, Alien Residence Certificate and Health insurance. After the 3-day & 2-night lectures are over, employers can get everything at the same time and the migrant workers can start working formally. At present, the overall plan is still planning, and it is expected to go live in 2022.
