Q: What happens if I do not provide sufficient documents?
A: If your documents are insufficient, you will be required to provide additional related documents. This process may extend the processing time by several weeks to a month.

Q: Do my documents need to be translated?
A: If the documents are not in English or Chinese, you must provide an English or Chinese translation. You can translate the documents yourself and attach the original files.

Q: What should I do if I need to submit additional documents?
A:

  • Check progress → Correction (items) list → View → Modify → Upload documents
  • Ensure all relevant information is prepared, and log in to the application platform. Complete the online correction/upload process within 30 days after receiving the notification from the National Immigration Agency. For those applying from abroad, the correction period is 6 months.
  • There will be no extra fees if you upload your documents before the deadline. However, if you fail to complete the corrections within 6 months, the Ministry of Labor will reject your case, and no refunds will be issued.
  • Check your application status on the system. If your case is still under review, you must wait for the competent authority to return your application before uploading the documents.
  • Confirm the accuracy of your uploaded documents. Ignore the preview feature as it only shows past files. Continuously click "Next Step" and submit your application.
  • If your passport validity is less than 6 months when submitting additional documents, you must apply for a new passport, enter the new passport number, and re-select the validity period using the calendar tool as shown below.

Q: How do I switch fields of expertise?
A:

  • Check progress → Correction (items) list → View → Modify → Select field of expertise.
  • Confirm the accuracy of uploaded documents. Ignore the preview function, continuously click "Next Step," and submit.

Please note:

  • If you switch to a new field or category, or if new regulations apply to the previously selected category, the platform cannot transfer the documents from your previous application.
  • Review the qualifications required for each field carefully and pay attention to the description of required documents. Most applicants provide documents according to the qualification descriptions for the field they apply to.
  • If the reviewing authority finds your documents insufficient, they may return your application and request additional documents. At this point, you can submit additional documents or switch fields. However, if the authority deems the chances of approval in the new field low, they may reject your application outright instead of returning it.

Q: Does applying for the Employment Gold Card require a guarantee letter?
A: Applicants from certain countries must provide a guarantee letter for applying for a Taiwan visa, which will be reviewed by the foreign office.
