With negative COVID-19 test proof, Taiwan arrivals in the American state of Hawaii will not be required to quarantine for 10 days, starting on April 17.
According to FOCUS TAIWAN, the special treatment, set to begin on April 17, is part of efforts by Hawaii to revive its economic activities and tourism, which were hard hit by the COVID-19 pandemic, the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office (TECO) in Honolulu said in a press release.
The conditional lifting of the 10-day home quarantine requirement for visitors from Taiwan was implemented under a cooperative memorandum signed between the Hawaii state government and Taiwan, the office said.

Under the memorandum, the mandatory quarantine will be waived once arriving travelers from Taiwan present a negative COVID-19 test result issued by one of the 11 hospitals that are on Hawaii's list of "trusted testing partners" (TTPs), the office said.
FOCUS TAIWAN mentions, Taiwan is the fourth country with which Hawaii has signed such a memorandum, after Japan, Canada and South Korea.
The 11 hospitals in Taiwan on Hawaii's TTPs list are Cathay General Hospital in Taipei and its branches in New Taipei and Hsinchu; Chang Gung hospitals in Taipei, New Taipei, Chiayi and Kaohsiung; and Mackay Memorial hospitals in Taipei, New Taipei, Hsinchu and Taitung, TECO said.
