The “2021 New Residents Vocational Training Course” undertaken by the China Youth Corps of Hsinchu aims to train new residents to start their own businesses, switch jobs, and obtain a competitive advantage in the workplace.

Taking into account the needs of the current job market, courses will be in two main fields which are food & beverage industry and beauty & nails industry. These courses will help new residents to gain new professional skills and to enter the workplace more easily.

This time, the content of the vocational training courses is rich and innovative. For example, the most popular techniques of beauty & nails - Russian Manicure, Monocolor Nails, and Microneedling with algae. Therefore, students will be able to master the latest skincare and beauty techniques.

Besides, food & beverage courses will be conducted through practical demonstrations by lecturers. Dishes to be taught will combine ingredients of Taiwanese cuisine and special ones from new residents’ hometowns, creating a unique style of food.

In addition, consultations courses for start-ups include small-scale store opening funds, entry-level account management, social media marketing, copywriting, graphic designs, photography skills, counseling and other diversified professional courses, which will be provided as well. The customized courses and consultations will assist new residents in solving problems related to business operations.

The expected course intake number is 15 students. The target students will be new residents who have received the national identification card of Taiwan, or foreigners who hold the permanent residence, temporary residence, and spouses who have been resided in Taiwan. If the trainees meet the qualifications, they can be exempted from training fees.

New residents who wish to participate in the vocational training class courses can register on-site at Hsinchu Lifelong Learning Center of China Youth Corps (救國團新竹終身學習中心) or register online. The deadline for registration is November 5 or until fully registered. After registration, the training unit will adopt a selection method to evaluate whether the participants have the basic learning ability to join the training class.
