Hu La Tang Jie Jie (胡辣湯姐姐) from Henan, China, has been residing in Taiwan for about a year. She created the YouTuber Channel “Hu La Tang Jie Jie” while she was serving quarantine in Taiwan, hoping to share her daily life with others.  

Hu La Tang Jie Jie met her Taiwanese husband through a mutual friend. Before getting married in Taiwan, she was working in the sector of human resource management. Besides, she also writes articles on WeChat public account.

She derived great satisfaction from writing and benefiting her friends with the things she wrote. These make her wish to continue doing something meaningful and therefore she decided to create a YouTube channel in Taiwan.

In this episode of the “New Immigrants in Taiwan” column, Hu La Tang Jie Jie shares why “Quintuple stimulus vouchers” are introduced to stimulate Taiwan's domestic economy, and how is it circulated in the market.

The vouchers are part of the Taiwan government’s efforts to boost the economy after the COVID-19 outbreak. She reminded the public that the expiry date for the voucher is April 30, 2022, and the stores need to redeem the voucher before June 30, 2022.

She also mentioned that her vouchers were used to buy food in the night markets and daily necessities in the supermarkets. Besides, netizens told her the introduction of “Quintuple stimulus vouchers” successfully motivated them to spend more money on things they have been eyeing for a while.
