The Skills Evaluation Center of the Workforce Development Agency of the Ministry of Labor (勞動部勞動力發展署技能檢定中心) announced that with the epidemic alert lowered to Level 2, the different categories of skills evaluation (except for the beauty category) will resume registration and testing from July 27, 2021. The school reopening for high vocational students for skills certification requires faculty and staff whose vaccination has not reached 14 days, to show a rapid test result within 3 days or a negative PCR nucleic acid test for the safety of students. The National Federation of Teachers’ Unions (NFTU, 全國教師工會) reminded that inspection staff must pay attention to epidemic prevention regulations and safety.

Hou Chun-liang (侯俊良), Chairman of the NFTU, said that since July 27, epidemic prevention measures will be moderately relaxed, and senior middle school students may return to school to practice skills evaluation. The Ministry of Education (MOE, 教育部) requires participants (including professors, instructors, other staff and students) to register. For those who have not been vaccinated or for those whose vaccinations have not reached 14 days, they must show a rapid screening test result within 3 days or a negative nucleic acid test, and get a regular rapid screening test every 3 to 7 days. At the same time, it is reminded that the personnel who need to conduct certification must follow the epidemic prevention measures of the MOE when the examinations resume on July 27.

In addition, Hou Chun-liang pointed out that because elementary and middle school students cannot be vaccinated, the NFTU will make sure that school staff should be vaccinated first, in response to epidemic prevention for the beginning of school. For schools that will resume technical examinations, the Ministry of Labor (MOL, 勞動部) together with the MOE, have guidelines for epidemic prevention measures to allow schools to conduct skills certification.
