Because of the Covid-19 pandemic, the 54th "ASEAN National Tourism Organization Conference" (ASEAN NTO, 東協國家旅遊機構會議), was held online, hosted by Cambodia, and talked about the tourism strategies of ASEAN countries from 2021 to 2025. He Wen-chao (何文超), deputy director of the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (越南旅遊總局), said at the meeting that now is an important period for restarting the tourism industry, and all ASEAN member states should work together.

According to "Vietnam News Agency" (越通社), the 54th "ASEAN National Tourism Organization Conference was held recently. There are four committees in the meeting, including the ASEAN Tourism Competition Committee and the ASEAN Comprehensive Tourism Development Committee and other committees to discuss and summarize the tourism situation of the ASEAN countries from the year 2016 to the present. There are three main strategies for tourism from 2021 to 2025. They are to focus on countries with strong tourism attraction, to target specific tourist groups and to strengthen promotion and marketing on social media and on the internet. In addition, it was also mentioned in the meeting that not only should the ASEAN countries assist each other, but they should also cooperate with other Asian countries like Japan, South Korea and other countries to work towards tourism recovery.

The complete name of ASEAN is "Association of Southeast Asian Nations" (東南亞國家協會). Established in 1961, it is a governmental international organization in Southeast Asia. It currently has ten member countries, one candidate country and one observer status country. The founding countries are Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand and Singapore.
