Filipino TV host Gretchen Ho travels to Sulu to see kids and students

According to the Philippine Daily Inquirer, although television host Gretchen Ho says that most people have preconceived conceptions of Sulu, she just visited the location and her perceptions have completely changed.

"When we hear about Sulu, we typically picture weapons and fatigues. But what I witnessed at their Madrasa and public schools will forever alter my perception of the province, she mentioned this on Instagram feed.

She said, "They weren't used to visitors, and I wasn't used to the sight of youngsters surrounded by troops. As we were on stage waiting to give our remarks, we were welcomed by innocent tiny eyes behind hijabs that stared at us in wonder. In it, there was mutual understanding.

Ho observed news anchor and broadcaster Ed Lingao "unpacking his enormous military bag and pulling out laptops and projectors." She explained that this was a section of a laptop project that he and his wife had undertaken in memory of their late daughter Ellie. She did her part by getting the youngsters some sports toys.

Ho acknowledges that it's questionable whether things will "transform abruptly" because "it will take time to allay worries and remove misconceptions about this place given their lengthy and traumatic past."
