The Indian professor, Thangavel Sangeetha is dedicated to initiatives to restore the environment. Her work involves the development of microbial fuel cells, which can generate hydrogen energy. Microbial fuel cells have a value added that is unmatched by other renewable energy sources. They may be installed in extremely polluted rivers, marine estuaries, etc., and when sewage flows through them, they not only create electricity but also efficiently remove organic matter in the water.

As a "senior professional," Sangeetha, who holds a Ph.D. in environmental science, applied for the Alien Permanent Residence Permit - Plum Blossom Card this year. Sangeetha emphasized how badly contaminated the world's waterways and rivers are. She began her search for a sustainable answer with the creation of green energy from wastewater treatment. Sangeetha received an invitation to teach in Taiwan in 2017 from the Department of Energy and Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning Engineering at National Taipei University of Technology. After graduating, the students joined the environmental engineering business because they were inspired by Teacher Sangeetha.

Sangeetha received her degree from Bharathiar University in India, and her primary areas of interest in study include green energy and environmental engineering projects including microbial fuel cells and electrolytic cells as well as wastewater treatment. She frequently travels with her family while working in Taiwan, and she particularly enjoys seeing Taiwan's stunning mountains and rivers.

According to the director (蘇慧雯) of NIA Taipei Service Station Center, the government offers a variety of application procedures to make it easier for foreign professionals to obtain residence and permanent residence in Taiwan in order to attract them and boost Taiwan's competitiveness internationally.
