On September 7, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced 12 new confirmed cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Taiwan. Of the 12 new cases, eight are domestic and the other four are imported. The CECC reported no deaths today.

Regarding the eight new domestic cases, they are one man and seven women, aged between under 5 and 59 years old. They began to suffer the onset of symptoms between September 1 and September 5. Regarding those domestic cases, seven cases were reported in New Taipei City, and one case was reported in Taipei City.

Regarding the four new imported cases, they are three men and one woman, aged between 10 to 49 years old. They arrived in Taiwan from India, Japan, Malaysia and Lesotho. They arrived between August 13 and September 5.

The CECC reported that a total of 2,849,565 cases related to COVID-19 have been reported in Taiwan among which COVID-19 has been ruled out in 2,832,159. Of these reported cases, infection with COVID-19 was laboratory-confirmed in 16,047 cases. Of the 16,047 confirmed cases, 1,444 are imported; 14,550 are domestic; 36 are naval crew members aboard the Panshi fast combat support ship; 2 are infections on an aircraft; 1 case has unknown sources of infection; 14 cases' sources of infection are being investigated, and a cumulative total of 110 cases have been removed from the list of confirmed cases. There have been a cumulative total of 837 COVID-19 deaths since 2020; of the 837 deaths, 827 are from domestic cases and the other 10 are from imported cases.
